To be able to edit more efficiently for common issues I generally correct. Jackiekoerner (talk) 04:45, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

More specifically, please? You've only made a handful of mainspace edits this year and fewer than 350 in total, so I'm having trouble identifying any cases where you would benefit from having the ability to edit many pages very quickly. Normally I would deny this request based on the experience guidelines for access set by Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage#Requesting access, but since it seems you're an established member of the Wikimedia community, I believe that an exception could be made if you have a demonstrable need for AWB. – Juliancolton | Talk 15:49, 12 September 2018 (UTC)
Courtesy ping to Jackiekoerner, who might not have seen this question. Primefac (talk) 15:48, 16 September 2018 (UTC)
Thanks, Primefac for the ping. Yes, I have only made a handful of edits, but that is the reason for my request. Some fellow wiki friends suggested I start using more tools to help in my editing and I agree as I would like to be able to edit more efficiently. As you can see, my "handful of edits" have been of high quality and very in-depth. I prefer to classify people's contributions based on quality, not quantity. I feel this better recognizes a person's efforts and certainly applies to mine. Best, Jackiekoerner (talk) 14:47, 17 September 2018 (UTC)
@Primefac: I'll defer to you. Jackiekoerner's edits have indeed been constructive, but AWB is not an award for quality of edits, and requesting access because one wishes to become more active in the future seems contrary to how these things should work. – Juliancolton | Talk 14:24, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
@Juliancolton: I am getting from your comments that you disagree with me having access. I am not looking for access as an “award” or in order to be more “active” but rather more effective in using the time I do have to edit. I have limited time to contribute as I am a mother, independent researcher, author, volunteer in my community, etc. so I am looking into ways to be more efficient in my time. I follow the rules and I contribute constructively. I am perceiving your comments and tone towards me as colored by my numbers of edits. Could you please clarify what is your apprehension for me having access? Best, Jackiekoerner (talk) 14:57, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
@Jackiekoerner: I'm in no way faulting you for your comparatively low editcount. Real life is more important, and I get that. Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage#Requesting_access says, in bold font, "If you don't have a specific need for this then please do not request access for its use." Experience is a prerequisite for access to advanced tools and permissions, and it always has been; my "tone" is not colored by anything other than the same consensus-endorsed standards to which I've adhered for a decade when reviewing AWB applications. When a program designed solely for making large volumes of edits in a short time is concerned, the fact that you average about four article edits each month begs the question of what, specifically, you'd be interested in doing with said tool. It isn't a loaded question or a judgemental question, but the same question that admins are instructed to ask of everyone. – Juliancolton | Talk 15:21, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
@Juliancolton: I fail to see how my justification for access request is less specific than those submitted by various others who were approved. I have experience. I’m saddened that number of edits is still the golden standard for experience. I haven’t made numerous minor edits. Mine have all been very meaty edits. I’m tired of justifying my worth in order to have access to a tool. This screening process should be to keep out people operating in bad faith, not disenfranchise those operating in the best of faith. Approve me or not, that’s up to the appropriate people. As I am under the impression no response I make will be well received, I won’t be responding to further discussion. This is newbie gatekeeping and I won’t spend more time on it. I would like to use JWB for my bot (Pathbot). First I tried python for my bot and later I realized that AWB is good for doing tasks without mistakes, from some experienced users. But I have some technical problems in using AWB. So I would like to use JWB for my bot. This request is for my bot. PATH SLOPU (Talk) 12:06, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

@Path slopu: Do you have an approved or trial BRFA for your bot? I'm not seeing one, but I probably just don't know where to look. (Any other administrator is welcome to action this – I may be without internet access for several days.) Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 05:33, 16 September 2018 (UTC)
@L235:Hi greetings, I tried pywikibot in first time. I placed a request with it in BRFA. But users in discussion advised me that using AWB is more better than python for avoiding mistakes. So I tried to replace python with AWB. But I faced some technical problems in downloading AWB. I had wanted some more time to set up bot with AWB. So my request were denied and advised me that to place a good request with AWB. So I am trying to get AWB access for my bot. Thank you. PATH SLOPU (Talk) 14:18, 16 September 2018 (UTC)
{{not done}}. AWB access is only given to approved bots. Primefac (talk) 15:59, 16 September 2018 (UTC)
@Primefac:I would like to experience with AWB before creating the bot (please see this). I would like to use AWB in my normal account.PATH SLOPU (Talk) 16:13, 16 September 2018 (UTC)
Then you should strike your previous comments regarding wanting this for your bot. Your overenthusiasm regarding this issue is troublesome (see the multiple "requesting update" posts on the BRFA, my talk, and others), but since I'm likely a little biased because of it I will leave another admin to determine whether you should be given access. Primefac (talk) 16:18, 16 September 2018 (UTC)
@Primefac:I am extremely sorry for my overenthusiasm. I won't make such things. I striked my previous comments. Please check.PATH SLOPU (Talk) 16:27, 16 September 2018 (UTC)
