On Wikipedia, a draft page is one which is still being prepared and is not yet ready for publishing to its intended namespace. Drafts can be prepared in various other places, including:

  • The Draft namespace is the main home for drafts of new or improved articles intended for the main article space. A draft posted here is likely to be assessed and/or improved by other editors.
  • Userspace drafts in the User: namespace, for drafts associated with your user account. There is more freedom here to work on your own without interruption or strict quality criteria. Some users like to create new or modified articles here, before moving them into the Draft namespace as above, or even bypassing the Draft namespace altogether. A draft posted here is unlikely to be assessed and/or improved by other editors unless you invite them to.
  • Drafts in any namespace that are submitted for review by the Articles for creation WikiProject, which manages the review of drafts submitted through the Articles for Creation process.
  • The historical Wikipedia:Article Incubator, which is no longer used.
