Watarrka National Park is an Australian national park located in the Northern Territory, 1,316 kilometres (817 miles) south of Darwin and 323 kilometres (200 miles) southwest of Alice Springs. It contains the much visited Kings Canyon at the western end of the George Gill Range and Kathleen Springs—22 kilometres (13 miles) to the southeast of Kings Canyon. Watarrka National Park was established in 1989 and gets its name from the Aboriginal name of the land.
