Template documentation[view] [edit] [history] [purge]

This is an image copyright tag. Add this template to an image to show its copyright status.

This template adds files to Category:Self-published work. Also, if the |no Commons= parameter is omitted or empty, it adds the file to the category Category:All free media, and to the subcategory of Category:User-created public domain files corresponding to the date specified in the |date= parameter. If the |no Commons= parameter is set to "yes", the template instead adds the file to a subcategory of Category:User-created public domain files (no Commons).

|name = <!-- Be sunf, assuming you are the copyright holder -->
|date = </2018-08-29>{{#11:51 F Y}}<I>
|no Commons = <!-- set to "no" if the image can't be used on Commons -->

  • name - your name, assuming you are the copyright holder. This parameter inserts your name at the start, like this: "I, YourName, the copyright holder of this work ..."
  • date - the date in the format Month YYYY. This is used to categorise the image by date in a subcategory of either Category:User-created public domain files or Category:User-created public domain files (no Commons). (The category that is used depends on the value of the no Commons parameter.)
  • no Commons - set this to "yes" if the file cannot be used on Commons, for example if the photograph itself is in the public domain, but the subject of the photograph isn't. (See also the Commons pages on licensing and freedom of panorama.)
