Template:WikiProject Film/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The {{WikiProject Film}} project banner template should be added (never subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner.

Basic usage

An article's quality assessment is generated from the |class= parameter in the {{WikiProject Film}} project banner on its talk page:

{{WikiProject Film|class=}}

The following values may be used for the |class= parameter to describe the quality of the article (see Wikipedia:WikiProject Film/Assessment#Film grading scheme for assessment criteria):

|class=FA (for featured articles only; adds articles to Category:FA-Class film articles Featured article FA
|class=GA (for good articles only; adds articles to Category:GA-Class film articles  GA
|class=B adds articles to Category:B-Class film articles if they meet the B-Class criteria B-Class article B
|class=C adds articles to Category:C-Class film articles C-Class article C
|class=Start adds articles to Category:Start-Class film articles Start-Class article Start

|class=SIA for set index articles; adds articles to Category:SIA-Class film articles SIA-Class article SIA
|class=Disambig for disambiguation pages; adds pages to Category:Disambig-Class film articles Disambiguation page Disambig

By default, any articles with an empty |class= parameter are added to Category:Unassessed film articles.

For redirects and other pages that are not articles, the class will be set automatically. However, the |class= parameter may still be set manually using the following values:

|class=Book for Wikipedia books; adds pages to Category:Book-Class film articles Wikipedia Book Book
|class=Category for categories; adds pages to Category:Category-Class film articles Category page Category
|class=Draft for drafts; adds pages to Category:Draft-Class film articles  Draft

To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template.
