is it just a coincidence that ALF can be described the same way? Kingturtle 00:27 May 5, 2003 (UTC)

Didn't know ALF was Jewish...:-/ Lee M

"It is probably not a complete coincidence that Warren Mitchell as Alf Garnett looks exactly like Rudyard Kipling." - I find is such a pity that Wikipedia has such a relentlessly pseudo liberal-leftwing bias. DRG

Comedian Lenny Henry

Not sure if it was weakened criticism or only insight, but I remember Lenny Henry when asked to comment on Alf Garnett (a primetime nationwide TV show) said (almost appoligetically) something like 'he kind of understood it was meant to be anti-racist but the racism in Alf Garnett actually spread and armed his 'shoolmates' with unknown or little unknown racist slurs to insult him with' Whether right or wrong or racist or not, probs worth mentioning in this article. Lenny Henrys insight always stuck with me - could you imagine a new primetime show featuring an Alf-Garnett-alike but with 99% against Jew fellas rather than black folk. It would be Vorbotten, just look how The Two Ronnies sketch about the giant rabbi and Vikings got scrubbed from ever being repeated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 10:13, 27 October 2015 (UTC)

Lenny, Lenworth George Henry, Sir & CBE? give us a break, the guy who stereotyped white folk like Frank Spencer for years without any problems (we didn't mind) and spent the night with the blond 'slim' girl with whom he just talked with all night..(yeah right) Your insight is very good and one could add that Alf really did make bigotry something to laugh at not with. Try living in countries that despise white folk and hear the hate we all deal with, yet no recourse. Alf the character was flawed, yes, hands up who is not please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 17:59, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
