The Xbox is a sixth generation video game console produced by Microsoft Corporation. It was Microsoft's first foray into the gaming console market, and competed directly with Sony's PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo GameCube. It was released on November 15, 2001 in North America, February 22, 2002 in Japan, and March 14, 2002 in Europe and Australia. It is the predecessor to Microsoft's Xbox 360 console. To date it has sold 24 million units and its best selling game is Halo 2.

On November 22, 2005, Microsoft introduced their second console, the Xbox 360, a seventh generation console that competes with the Wii and the PlayStation 3. The console sold out completely at release (with the exception of Japan) and, as of May 27, 2013, 77,311,669 million units have been sold worldwide according to Microsoft and its best selling game is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

On May 21, 2013 the third Xbox, the Xbox One, was formally revealed. At E3 on June 10, it was announced that the Xbox One will be bundled with an improved Kinect motion sensor. It is being marketed as an "all-in-one entertainment system" that can connect to a cable box and allow the user to control the TV with vocal commands. It will include multitasking and gesture support.

Official Xbox Magazine is a monthly video game magazine which started in November 2001 around the launch time of the original Xbox. A preview issue was released for E3 2001, with another preview issue for November 2001. The magazine is bundled with a disc that includes game demos, preview videos and trailers, and other content, such as game or Xbox updates and free gamerpics. For those without broadband and Xbox Live access, the discs also provide the software for the Xbox 360 for backward compatibility of original Xbox games.

The magazine features previews, reviews, and cheat codes for Xbox games. On November 22, 2005 the Xbox 360 was released, and the magazine began including Xbox 360 game reviews, previews, and Xbox 360-compatible games on the demo disc. The Official Xbox Magazine reviews every Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox Live Arcade game, as well as downloadable content and expansion packs.

Fable is an RPG video game for Xbox, Mac OS X, and Windows platforms. It was developed by Big Blue Box, a satellite developer of Lionhead Studios, and was published by Microsoft. The game shipped for Xbox on September 14, 2004. An extended version of the game, Fable: The Lost Chapters, was released for Windows and Xbox in September 2005.

Fable takes place in the fictional world of Albion. Players assume the role of an orphaned boy who realizes his dream of becoming a hero. The choices players make in the game affect the perception and reaction to their Hero by the characters of Albion, and change the Hero's appearance to mirror what good or evil deeds the Hero has performed.
