Introduction

SlipKnot.jpg

The slip knot is a stopper knot which is easily undone by pulling the tail (working end). The slip knot is related to the running knot, which will release when the standing end is pulled. Both knots are identical and are composed of a slipped overhand knot, where a bight allows the knot be released by pulling on an end; the working end for a slip knot, and the standing end for a running knot. The slip knot is used as a starting point for crochet and knitting.

The slip knot is a stopper knot that may be spilled or slipped instantly by pulling on the end to withdraw a loop. There is but one knot entitled to the name; any others having a similar feature are merely "slipped" knots.

Voliminal: Inside the Nine is Slipknot's third video album. Released December 5, 2006 through Roadrunner Records, the 2-disc DVD set features an 84 minute movie created by band member Shawn "Clown" Crahan. The set also includes live performances, music videos from songs on the band's third studio album, and the first unmasked interviews with all of the band members.

The movie featured footage recorded from the recording of Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) through the end of the tour in support of the album spanning a total of 28 months. The DVD was promoted on various websites for the weeks leading up to its limited theatrical release. Critical reception of the album was mixed, Dawn wrote the album has "a raw sound" calling it "an audible treat for thrash and speed metal fans". However, Billboard would tell fans to "save your cash for the band's next tour". Voliminal would be certified gold, platinum, and double platinum in Australia, the United States, and Canada respectively.

While growing up in Des Moines, Iowa, Jordison quickly developed an interest in music; learning to play the guitar and drums. Jordison joined multiple bands throughout his high school years, which lead to him being invited to join The Pale Ones, at age 20. Jordison immediately embraced the idea and quickly became involved in all aspects of the band, which evolved into Slipknot. Jordison's dedication to music has led to performances and work with many other bands over his career, including Metallica, Korn, Ministry, Satyricon, OTEP, Marilyn Manson, and 3 Inches of Blood.
