The Walt Disney Company is one of the largest media and entertainment corporations in the world. Founded on October 16, 1923, by brothers Walt and Roy Disney as a small animation studio, it became one of the biggest Hollywood studios and owns several television networks, including the American Broadcasting Company (ABC).

At this time, Disney have produced well over 100 films through their studios and also under the label of other studios such as Touchstone Pictures and Hollywood Pictures. Many of these are critically acclaimed and very popular, including classic animated movies such as Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King. More recently they have founded websites such as Go.com; and also television channels such as the Disney Channel.

In addition to their televisual success, numerous theme parks have been opened, not only in America, but also in Japan, France and China. These include Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Park among others. The Walt Disney Company currently owns interest in eleven theme parks world wide.

Phineas Flynn is the main protagonist of the animated television series Phineas and Ferb. Voiced by Vincent Martella and created and designed by Dan Povenmire, Phineas first appeared along with the rest of the series' main characters in the pilot episode "Rollercoaster." Phineas, along with his stepbrother Ferb Fletcher, star in each A-Plot of every episode. The series concerns Phineas's attempts to avoid boredom by finding something new to do every day of the summer vacation. His sister's name is Candace Flynn, who tries to reveal their outrageous creations, but to no avail. He does this with his less-talkative stepbrother Ferb, and often with many other neighborhood children. The activities they devise usually involve outlandish contraptions, including roller coasters, haunted houses, roller rinks, and a backyard beach etc. which Phineas designs and Ferb builds. It is also said in Phineas and Ferb's "Quantum Boogaloo" that he had won the nobel prize, as he was in Switzerland at the time for the "award ceremony". Phineas comes from a blended family. The creators chose this arrangement because they considered it underused in children's programming as well as from Marsh's past experiences in one. As a character, Phineas has received a positive critical response, with one reviewer describing him and his brother as a "comical pairing." Phineas appears in Phineas and Ferb merchandise, including plush toys, t-shirts, and a video game.
