Backstreet Boys

Backstreet Boys 2005.jpg

The Backstreet Boys (often abbreviated as BSB) are an American vocal group, formed in Orlando, Florida in 1993. The group consists of AJ McLean, Howie D., Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell.

The group rose to fame with their debut international album, Backstreet Boys (1996). In the following year they released their second international album Backstreet's Back (1997), and their U.S. debut album which continued the group's success worldwide. They rose to superstardom with their third studio album Millennium (1999) and its follow-up album, Black & Blue (2000).

After a two-year hiatus, they regrouped and released a comeback album Never Gone (2005). After the conclusion of the Never Gone Tour in 2006, Richardson left the group to pursue other interests. The group then released two albums as a quartet: Unbreakable (2007) and This Is Us (2009).

In 2012, the group announced that Richardson had rejoined them permanently. In the following year they celebrated their 20th anniversary and released their first independent album, In a World Like This (2013). The group also released their first documentary movie, titled Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of in January 2015.

The Backstreet Boys have sold over 100 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling boy band of all time,[1] and one of the world's best-selling music artists. They are the first group since Sade to have their first nine albums reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200, and the only boy band to do so. The Backstreet Boys are one of the few boy bands to have continued success long after their peak. Their 2013 album In a World Like This debuted in the top five, two decades after the group was formed. The group received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 22, 2013.

Never Gone is the fifth (fourth in the U.S.) studio album released by American vocal group Backstreet Boys. Originally due for release in 2004, the release date for the album was pushed back to June 14, 2005 for unknown reasons. The album varies musically from their previous albums, with a rock sound to the album. Unlike previous albums, the album featured only live instruments. The album is named after a song on it which mourns the loss of Kevin Richardson's father.

Never Gone was certified as a platinum record in the U.S. It sold 293,000 copies during its first week of availability, and debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200. In Japan, it sold 528,000 copies and was second biggest western artist's album for 2005. Never Gone was also released as a DualDisc, which features the entire album in 5.1 Surround Sound, the music video for "Incomplete" and a short documentary showing the making of the video. This was the last album Kevin Richardson collaborated on before he took a break from the group in 2006 to pursue other interests. Richardson returned to the Backstreet Boys in 2012.

Nick Carter.JPG

Nickolas Gene "Nick" Carter is an American singer-songwriter, dancer, musician, entertainer and actor. He is best known as a member of the vocal group Backstreet Boys. He gained fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s as a teen idol. In 2002, during the group's hiatus, he released a solo album called Now Or Never. He has made occasional television appearances and starred in his own reality show, House of Carters in 2006. He is also the older brother of singer Aaron Carter.

Carter was born on January 28, 1980 in Jamestown, New York to Robert Gene Carter and Jane Elizabeth (née Spaulding). His parents owned a bar called the Yankee Rebel there. Several years later, the family moved to Ruskin, Florida and managed a retirement home, Garden Villa Retirement Home, where they added his younger siblings to their family.

He joined a vocal group that would be the Backstreet Boys in 1992 when he was only 12. He was arguably the most popular member when the group reached its world stardom in 1999-2000. In 2011 he released his second solo album, titled I'm Taking Off.
