Padikkadavan (English: Uneducated Man) is a 2009 Indian Tamil-language action-comedy film written and directed by Suraaj. It stars Dhanush, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vivek, Sayaji Shinde, Pratap Pothan, Suman and Atul Kulkarni in the lead roles[1] and features a huge supporting cast in small pivotal and cameo roles. The film released on 14 January 2009 during Pongal receiving huge positive Response.[2][2] The film was successful grossing 17 crore in Tamil Nadu and established Dhanush as one of top five saleable heroes of Tamil cinema then.[3] Later the film was dubbed in Hindi as Meri Taqat Mera Faisla 2. Filming began in March 2008 and was released in Pongal 2009.


Rocky (Dhanush), a school dropout, is constantly looked down upon by his well educated father Rama Krishnan (Prathap Pothen). But he falls in love with a rich girl named Gayathri (Tamannaah Bhatia) and develops his life, after crossing the hurdles given by her father Samarasimha Reddy (Suman), Chennai-Andhra[disambiguation needed] based rowdy Rami Reddy (Sayaji Shinde) and Tirunelveli based mafia Kasi Anandan (Atul Kulkarni). Meanwhile, there are comic situations given by Assault Arumugam (Vivek) and (Suman Setty).



The soundtrack consists of fives songs composed by Mani Sharma.
