From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The following is a list of the most populated cities in Germany. A German Großstadt is defined as a city with more than 100,000 inhabitants.[1] As of December 31, 2015, 79 cities fulfil this criterion. Four of Germany's Großstädte have more than one million inhabitants.

A city is displayed in bold if it is a state or federal capital, and in italics if it is the most populous city in the state. The table below contains the following information:
