Jhang District (Punjabi and Urdu: ضلع جھنگ‎) is a district of the Punjab province of Pakistan. The city of Jhang is the district's capital.[2] In 2009 the tehsil of Chiniot became the separate Chiniot District.

The district comprises on four sub-districts (or Tehsils):[3]


According to the 1998 census, Punjabi was the first language of 95% of the population in the Jhang and Shorkot Tehsils, while Urdu – of 3.8%.[4]
