Chanda Romero is a Philippine actress.[1] She is mostly seen on GMA Network and appeared seven times on ABS-CBN.

Romero career was also popular for being leading lady or counter opposite to Action Stars Rudy Fernandez and even Fernando Poe Jr and Philip Salvador she even was cast as a business exec in the hit cult classic Working Girls in 1984 followed by cult classics Bagets and Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin? Which were also cult classics in 1987 she starred in Paano Kung Wala Ka Na with film actresses Susan Roces and Charo Santos as a scorned wife although she was not the lead actress she brought intensity to the role as a scorned lover who suspects that Roces character is the mistress from the 90s and onwards she took on other roles and landed into television in prime time Dramas such as Villa Quintana and then in ABS CBNs Vietnam Rose in 2005 later on she had more tv projects than ever she was critically acclaimed in the tv series My Husbands Lover as Dennis Trillos mom Sol and Maxene Magalonas evil Mother in Law in the daytime soap Faithfully

Chanda V. Romero is the daughter of Enrique Villanueva Romero of Bais City Negros Oriental ( Old Spanish and Chinese descent ) and Remedios Valenzuela of Cebu City .A family of Politics ,Sugar Planter, Artists and Cultural Workers in Negros Oriental. One of the Most Powerful family in Negros Villanuevas, Teveses, Pinili,,Romero,Calumpang , Villamil ,Baena and Gomez Clan.She is the niece of award winning Film Director Eddie Sinco Romero,related to Yasmin Romero Character Actress in the 60s and 70s,Cousin of Film Director and MTRCB Board of Director Joey Romero and Raymund A. Villanueva fashion Director

Career

In the 1970s and the 1980s she had a staple of films she starred with Award Winning Actresses' Elizabeth Oropesa, Hilda Koronel, Gloria Diaz, and Daria Ramirez in a bunch of films her number of work also caught the eyes of Celso Ad Castillo, Ishmael Bernal, Danny Zialcita and Lino Brocka her prolific leading men include Philip Salvador, Eddie Garcia, Christopher De Leon, Dindo Fernando, and Joel Torre and etc. Her sexy and serious roles even caught attention in films like Working Girls and Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin? In the 1990s although her television success in Villa Quintana brought her praise she starred in Ligaya Ang Itawag Mo Sa Akin a prolific movie with Director Carlos Siguion Reyna with Rosanna Roces

Personal life

She is now happily married to Jose Mari "Mayi" Alejandrino.So last Oct. 25,2013,the couple asked the immediate family to be at Casino Espanol de Cebu an hour earlier.. (Mass and Mom’s birthday dinner was to be held at 6pm)…so we could squeeze in our civil rites. On May 17, 2014 Chanda and Mayi made their vows in a commitment ceremony at the Tierra de Maria Chapel in Tagaytay.

In the 1970s Chanda Romero starred in both Award-Winning Films Pag Puti Ng Uwak Pag Itim Ng Tagak which transitioned her from more daring roles such as skin flicks through the 1970s and 1980s she has also done films with VIVA Films entirely she even starred with bigger actors in numerous films such as Christopher De Leon (Bituing Walang Ningning) and Gabby Concepcion and even Aga Muhlach she even did numerous antagonist roles
