Brookewood School is a private independent day school for girls located in Kensington, Maryland. It is associated with The Avalon School, a private school for boys in Wheaton, Maryland, and the Thomas More Institute, an umbrella program for homeschoolers. It is a Catholic school with a student/teacher ratio of 7:1. Brookewood School recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 2016.

Students at Brookewood read the classics, sing and recite poetry, explore the world, climb trees, play sports and have the ability to grow into successful young women. The school offers small classes where teachers are able to meet the needs of every individual girl. Students can excel in a same-sex environment where they are free to explore a low-pressure environment and grow in a community of love and support. Outside the classroom, Brookewood takes advantage of the wide range of educational, cultural, and natural opportunities in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Brookewood is an independent school, approved as Catholic by the Archbishop of Washington. The school has one priest on faculty who offers optional daily Mass and weekly confession. The school also celebrates Mass together as a community on first Fridays and holy days of obligation.

The majority of Brookewood students are practicing Catholics, strongly engaged in their faith. 10–20% of the student body comes from other Christian or non-Christian traditions. Brookewood School admits students of any race or national origin to programs and activities of the school with all rights and privileges.

Brookewood School is an equal opportunity employer. Equal opportunity and access is provided to persons without regard to race, national origin, sex, or disability unrelated to job duties in the implementation of employment policies and procedures.
