2011 (MMXI) was a common year starting on Saturday of the Gregorian calendar, the 2011th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 11th year of the 3rd millennium, the 11th year of the 21st century, and the 2nd year of the 2010s decade.

The year 2011 was the 40th year after the independence of Bangladesh. It was also the third year of the second term of the Government of Sheikh Hasina.

  • October 22 – The market stabilisation fund (MSF), worth BDT 50 billion ($ 667 million), was conceived by the Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) as a method to increase liquidity in the market and increase share prices, in response to share market scam.[6]
