Louis XVI was the King of France. The historical fiction novel A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens ("It was the best of times; it was the worst of times") opens in the year 1775. It is the story of London and Paris leading up to the French Revolution. The Flour War began in the spring of 1775.
